Abdulmateen is an alumnus of the Chou lab. He obtained his MASc degree in January 2022. His research interests include DNA Nanotechnology, Molecular Biology, Molecular Engineering, and Synthetic Biology.
Prior to joining the Chou lab, Abdulmateen completed his undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. Abdulmateen also completed a 4th year independent research project focused on Wnt Signaling in Stem Cell Biology under the supervision of Dr. Bradley Doble in the Stem Cell and Cancer Research Institute (SCC-RI).
When he’s not doing science, Abdulmateen enjoys powerlifting, exploring the latest technology, and playing sports (Basketball, Football, Soccer).
